When applied to a surface, during the chemical process, MicrobeCare antimicrobial, silane- based molecules, covalently bond to the surface forming a thin film, becoming an integral and permanent part of that surface. The molecular or “covalent” bond layer, at the nano level, resembles billions of positively charged microscopic spears, extending outward from the surface. Because the cell walls of harmful microbes are negatively charged, they are drawn toward and pulled onto the positively charged antimicrobial spikes by electrostatic attraction. Destruction is instantaneous and complete as the antimicrobial spikes both rupture the microbes’ cell walls and membranes, by impaling or spearing the pathogen and very effectively killing them by delivering a powerful electrostatic charge. The layer of molecular antimicrobial spears carries on working and is ready to destroy the next cell to contact it.

How does MicrobeCare work?

TM

Traditional antimicrobial solutions work by poisoning the cell and altering the DNA of microorganisms (chemical mode of action) taking up to a full day to kill them. MicrobeCare™ on the other hand, uses a much quicker and safer mechanical mode of action. MicrobeCare™ is bonded to a surface and provides protection through three functional elements.
